THE DIRT
Tea Oil is the name of the oil produced from the seeds of the Camellia Oleifera. While the tea for drinking comes from the leaves of Camellia Sinensis. Camellia plant products have shared the same language characteristics throughout Asia and are translated as 'Tea' in English - hence the name 'Tea Oil'.
Camellia Tea Oil was traditionally used in a refined form to fry tempura in Japan, lucky for those of us who are not Japanese, it is now available as a light multipurpose oil with some very unique qualities.
What's so good about Phase 5 Camellia Tea Oils?

(this importantly avoids the production of carcinogenic nitrosamines, which can be a dangerous source of indoor air pollution in the kitchen)
. Low oily residue means your food isn't left soggy
. Natural flavour is subtle and delicious and you won't notice any odour after cooking.
. Good Source of Omega-9 and contains Vitamin E - antioxidants
An important tip for heating oil; Heat your choice of Tea oil over a high heat. Carefully observe for the first sign of 'smoke' to appear. Reduce heat immediately to a level where no smoke appears. Known as 'Observing the Smoke Point' this indicates the maximum temperature the oil can be heated before the cooking commences.
