Conventional shaving creams often contain some pretty nasty ingredients many of which contribute to far more than shaving rash!

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate: a skin irriating surfactant that is linked with eczema, mouth ulcers and liver and gastrointestinal toxicity. It is a teratogen (causing developmental defects) and is toxic to aquatic organisms.

Propylene Glycol: there are various types of propylene glycol, most of which have some level of toxicity.  It is easily absorbed into the skin and associated with chronic liver and kidney dysfunction in addition to skin irritation..... it's best avoided.

TEA: A known mutagen (causes DNA changes) this substance is often contaminated with 1, 4 Dioxane; a human carcinogen.

Propylparaben and methylparaben: Endocrine disrupting chemicals that have been linked with breast cancer and allergies.

Quaterium-15: A common cause of dermatitis, this compound also off-gases formaldehyde, a known carcinogen.
