The following blog is from Wendy Dumaresq, owner and founder of Rad Pads and the Natural Woman Network.

The Natural Woman Network are giving away two yearly memberships valued at $50 each. The membership gives you benefits such as discounts on products and a $20 gift voucher.

Just answer the question ;

What is it that you think Mothers need or want most to live a happy and healthy lives?

"Once upon a time, there was a woman - a rather frazzled one, a bit worn at the edges from child-bearing and bringing home the bacon. One day she was sitting in the gentle autumn sun having just had a meditate.

Out of nowhere (or everywhere?) appeared an angelic like form to her left.

'Now this is interesting' the woman thought, 'where did that come from?'
The 'being' took this woman (who we shall call Wendy) by the hand and they walked to the top of a mountain and looked down upon our world.

What Wendy saw there was quite unsettling.

There was not a single green tree, shrub or blade of grass. No water was to be seen - no bird or animal life or human life. The 'being' said - 'Your task is to help heal the earth..."
Well, Wendy freaked out, this was indeed rather a large task after all.
However the 'being' picked up on her distress and said, "you do not have to do this, but if you do, you will be given the resources and help you need..."

Wendy thought 'what have I got to lose', and accepted the task. After all she has been asking for a while what the next step was for her.

Just goes to show, we need to be careful what we ask for!
Not long after this, Wendy took over the business Rad-Pads, cloth menstrual pads, continued her Herbal medicine practice, and has now launched "Natural Woman Network", a private company with the slogan 'Earth Conscious, Health conscious'.

If you would like to join us on our quest to contribute to a cleaner, greener world full of happy, healthy people, please go to our website http://www.naturalwomannetwork.com.au and become a member of the NWN, or become a facilitator, or have access to our products and services among

So tell us your stories and win!!

I think want most mothers want is TIME. Time to spend with their loved ones, time to spend cooking, cleaning, partying, resting and reading. There seems to be far too many things to do and far too little time. I think nourishing relationships and time to spend on health are also important.

The same thing our Mothers wanted –happy, healthy children – a good, helpful husband is a bonus.

The following comment was sent via email from Julie Rosario;

Mums need to feel loved and valued. They need to see their children happy and healthy and have the satisfaction of knowing that they are doing their best to give them a great start to their lives. They need the support of their partners, family and friends. They need to know they are doing ok, that they aren’t perfect, and that they can ask for help when they need it.

More answers to our question have been coming in from Mum's around Australia.

Linda Wilson
"In addition to having access to food, water and nourishment, mothers need to be loving, open and exuberant to lead healthy and happy lives. Self-love naturally brings about loving self nourishment and healthy activity levels. Self-love allows mothers to bond with their children. Being open enables mothers to connect with the many people in their lives. Exuberance brings infectious joy and laughter to all."

Lisa Payne
"I think what mothers need and want is to nurtured and appreciated for all the giving of ourselves which we do"

Peta Crogan
"I believe women (Mothers) need the resources and support necessary to enable them to make confident decisions and stand strong in the face of popular belief.

By resources, I mean we need enough information and time to properly research our choices. We need the finances to enable us to focus our energy on our family – rather than outside work. (If it is necessary to work, then we need to work in a role which complements our lives as mothers.)

By support, I mean our husbands, family and peers need to respect our thorough research and decisions. This enables us to move forward, confident that we have made the right choice, thus freeing us to move on to the next moment, experience or issue rather than dwelling on the ‘what ifs’. Such support releases mothers from fear and enables us to fully experience the joys of mothering."

Raychel Fiddian
"HI, I know that I’m a mother that strives for freedom of choice, we are bombarded with everyone’s opinion on how to look after our children, especially when you are a new mum. I do believe that advise is great, but the freedom of choice is also great. The medical industry is a classic example of using fear as a tool to persuade mothers to proceed with what the medical industry thinks is good for your child, and even when research has been done by the mother, you end up being what seems like ganged up on. I have vivid memories of this with my son in England regarding the Vitamin K injection, that I thought was a choice, but when in the environment of expressing my choice, I was bombarded with many other people’s opinions, and they most defiantly used fear as a tool.

Not sure if this is a reply that you were looking for, but I felt the need to share."

Julie Rosario added (to her previous comment)
'And a regular massage!'

Some great thoughts and comments there, so feel free to keep them coming. Gina

Hello, I believe as a Mum a smile is a beautiful gift that fixes everything and a hug tops it off.
