Small changes for Big differences
The CleanLife virtual community is growing rapidly, so we thought it was about time we got together (in an online sort of way!) to share any small changes you, our CleanLife subscribers have made.
Sometimes it is hard to blend our 'green ethics' with our modern consumer based lifestyles. Changing the way we spend our dollars and our days can be difficult, however voting with our purchasing choices is one of the most powerful forces for change we have.
We would love to hear if you have converted to chemical free moisturiser, changed to organic chocolate, ditched the plastic bags or perhaps you have changed your power supply to a green energy source. Whatever it is you have done to improve your life and our environment, We would love to hear your experiences. Good and Bad!
To start you off here is one thing Tony and I have done. Our delightfully efficient bank (not!) sent us a pile of cheque books several years ago for no apparent reason. Unable to bring ourselves to throw this wad of paper away, it remained in our storage area for some time. Sorting through things recently I decided that old cheque books make fantastic notepads! So now I can doodle away while on the phone guilt free!
Small changes, big differences.
Looking forward to your experiences and ideas
Until next time
Clean Gina

I've started to make some changes, one step at a time - when my old body wash and face wash ran out I switched to organic.
I decided we could go a little organic at work too and stopped using our super chemically whiteboard cleaner and changed to the Aussie Green cleaner which works out heaps cheaper and I'm not ingesting fumes!
I have changed my dish liquid to a chemical free version and no longer get dermatitis on my hands! I think it was the SLS causing it.
I will slowly change over all my products to chemical free, I would love to hear from people who have found a good face moisturiser.
Hello,
Another good natural alternative is to wash baby in a pure castille soap (olive oil soap), its non drying and nourishing for their skin. You can always massage them with an oil afterwards such as Olive or even Sunflower Oil, I am not sure about using Almond Oil on babies because of the rise in nut allergies.
With my first baby I went crazy getting organics EVERYTHING for her. I wanted her to have a healthy life right from the start. After researching through books and on the net, I found GAIA products that have a Bath and Body Wash, Baby Hair Shampoo, Skin Soothing Lotion, and Conditioning Hair Detangler. I LOVE these products and even use the hair detangler myself!. Aroma Baby is also great. The brand 'Only Organics' food tastes great and my daughter LOVES this brand of food compared to yucky taste-less Heinz.
I stopped one day to think "Why am I going to such great lengths to give her an organic lifestyle when I too should be concerned with mine and my husbands health. We too have gone organic and will never turn back!
With the price of organic products being a little more expensive (and rightly so!) I've been looking for ways to live organic and cheaply!
Probably went a bit crazy when I bought 4 chooks and some organic food for them but I now get free range organic eggs fresh from my back yard. And yes, they do taste better!
I'm also growing organic veggies in pots (great for those that don't have a big backyard or room for a vegie patch). I've got some spinach, silverbeet and lettuce all thriving in pots. Cheap, healthy and eviro friendly!
